ဗုဒၶဘာသာ ျဖစ္လာပံု

My wife asked me to write in her Blog why and how I became Buddhist,

because this question was put by somebody (ကိုေက်ာ္သက္) to her in her Blog.

There is one short and one a bit longer answer to this question.

The short one: I am quite sure I have been in contact with the Teaching

of the Buddha in past lives, so it is only natural that I am attracted to

Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha in this life as well.

The one a bit longer:

When I was about 20 years of age or so - it was the so called hippie

time - everybody in the West used to travel "hitch hiking" to the East,

so did I. I did not have any fixed goal or area to go to. The direction

was India. I did make a break in Istanbul, Turkey, in a coffee shop

and overheard a conversation of some people on the table next to me.

They talked about Vipassana. I immediately asked them what they

were talking about and were it could be learned. They gave me some

address in India. So in Bombay I did my first meditation course and

I knew this is it. Soon I found that the true Dhamma is preserved in

Burma, rather than India. So I went there. Thats all. Ever since I am

a Buddhist, walking slowly on the Path of Dana, Sila, Bhavana. You can
